SHOULD YOU GO VEGAN?
Well, no. Veganism is promoted by misguided animal activists and processed food companies who jump on the back of it. It's then promoted further by shady organisations who infiltrate supposedly scientific publications and try to influence public policy.
I loathe to include this section really, but I've seen so many poor misguided folks who have been lured into this propaganda recently that I felt compeled to, because every time I question someone about this, they simply don't have all the information, haven't done their research and have been conned by powerful but inaccurate documentaries produced by animal rights activists.
The recent fuss in the UK was with the infamous 'planetary health diet', which proposed a diet almost entirely plant based, which was 70% grain and vegetable oil. they told the environmental scientists it was for peoples health, they told the health experts it was for the environment. But a follow of the money found it was conducted by almost entirely vegans and vegetarians and was one of the only journal articles ever to pier review their own work.
VEGANISM ISN'T BETTER FOR HEALTH
So, if there is no evidence that meat causes ANY disease, and we know for a fact that it’s PACKED with the nutrients we need, and have strong evidence that we evolved because we eat it, should it not be the base of our diet?
You get more nutrients per gram of food. That matters.
We want more nutrients per calorie AND more nutrients per gram.
And we want it bioavailability. If it’s locked up in cellulose, our bodies probably can’t digest it.
The most nutrient dense food on the planet is Liver and fish eggs.
Cut us open and you’ll find we are made of red meat. Who’d of thought that if we eat red meat, we get loads (or even ALL) of the nutrients we need.
THE REAL PROBLEM: IF NOT MEAT, THEN WHAT?
Eat lancet wants you to get 70% of your calories from grains and industrial seed oils.
I want you to thrive.
And therein lies the problem and evil-ness of maligning animal products.
Your diet will be inferior and you will suffer.
Different folks, different amounts.
Good trailer on how they told us that meat is bad:
You may well feel better short term, but nutrient deficiencies and high levels of anti-nutrients will take their tole over time.
VEGANISM ISN'T BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
your crops will either be fermented with animal manure, or with man made pesticide.
Cattle and methane is far more complicated than meets the eye: (link).
Yes there’s an environmental cost, but it’s actually a very small percentage of greenhouse gas emissions and one of the things that is actually an entirely necessary one.
A switch to plants only will have extremely minor effects in simplistic terms, but that ignores the second order effects.
Ruminant agriculture is entirely necessary and should be supported, we need it.
The current media line, but as so often is the case, When examined strand by strand, it doesn’t hold up.

The notion of plant based, where did it come from?: "eat foods, not too much, mostly plants" Michael Pollen. Sounds great, doesn’t it? A shame It’s fashion, not science.
The fact is that 97% of plants on the planet are too toxic to eat. The ones we can eat are also toxic, we can tolerate but it depends on the dose and the individual.
Humans already eat a mostly plant-based diet. We aren’t that healthy. Drugs and other factors contribute to our improved life-span. But don’t most of us have diminished health span?
VEGANISM ISN'T A COMPASSIONATE DIET -- YOU'LL KILL AND TORTURE MORE ANIMALS
...and more people too of course.
Promoting veganism is like telling your friends and family that you want them to suffer.
Dying from glyphosate poison
Chewed up in tractors
Whether it’s intended or not, it’s worse then killing one or two ruminants per year raised in an ecologically useful way.
